Title Short“The Dark Night of the Soul” – overcoming a spiritual depression with personl sharing and reflection
    Venue Convo Table 02
Experience Description“There is a purpose to experiencing darkness, so the Light can shine even brighter in the soul.” The concept of the Dark night of the Soul, was first introduced by St. John of the Cross, a 16th century Christian mystic, and a contemporary of St. Teresa of Avila, both members of the cloistered, Discalced Carmelite Order of the Catholic Church in Spain. After enduring 9 months of imprisonment and torture by his fellow monks for his attempts to reform their order, just like St. Teresa, he transcended his suffering (which he called the Dark Night) through the mystical insights of God's presence and mercy. After a brief presentation and personal sharing, Rabia will facilitate a reflection experience and discussion.
