Honoring the Journey

Honoring the Journey

Honoring the Journey is a podcast for people who are questioning, shifting, or reimagining what they’ve always believed. It’s for those who were handed a version of faith that no longer fits, but who still long for meaning, connection, and something deeper. Through honest conversations and real stories, this space explores what it looks like to deconstruct fear-based beliefs and create room for something more grounded and true. It’s not about telling people what to believe. It’s about helping them feel safe enough to explore what they already sense might be true. Hosted by Leslie Nease, a former Christian radio host turned coach and spiritual director in training, Honoring the Journey offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space to question, process, and grow- at your own pace.

Title ShortOutwit, Outplay, Outgrow: How Survivor Sparked My Faith Deconstruction
    Venue Workshop
Experience DescriptionLeslie Nease, former Christian radio personality and known to many as “Sister Christian” from Survivor: China, shares the unexpected story of how her time on national television began unraveling the faith she once held with certainty. What happens when the environment that shaped your beliefs and identity is stripped away? When the questions you were taught to avoid become impossible to ignore? When everything you know and are known for begins to crumble right in front of you? Being voted off Survivor was hard... being voted out of her faith community was excruciating. In this interactive conversational experience, Leslie weaves together behind-the-scenes moments from her time on Survivor with the deeper, quieter journey that followed... one of questioning, loss, curiosity, and ultimately freedom. This session will include a talk followed by an open Q&A, creating space for honest conversation about faith, doubt, identity, and what it means to trust yourself again. Whether you’re deconstructing, reconstructing, or simply curious, this is an invitation to honor your questions and explore what might be waiting on the other side of certainty.

Title ShortYou Have Heard It Said: Discovering a Religion-Free Jesus
    Venue Convo Table 01
Experience DescriptionJesus often began his teachings with the words, “You have heard it said…” before gently, and sometimes boldly, offering a different way of seeing. Many of us inherited a version of Jesus shaped by certainty, fear, and rigid frameworks. But what happens when those frameworks begin to fall apart? What if the unraveling isn’t the end of your faith, but an invitation to see more clearly? In this interactive conversation, Leslie Nease invites you to explore what it looks like to rediscover Jesus outside of the religious lens many of us were given. Through familiar stories and teachings, we will revisit the words of Jesus with fresh eyes and ears, not to dismantle their meaning, but to uncover what may have been there all along. This is not about having the “right” interpretation. It’s about making space for curiosity, honesty, and a deeper sense of connection. Whether you are deconstructing, reconstructing, or simply wondering if there is more to the story, this session offers a gentle, grounded invitation to engage with Jesus in a way that feels expansive, freeing, and deeply human.
