Sowing Seeds in the Sand

Sowing Seeds in the Sand

Bursting with civic indignation after the 2016 election, Jen Holt Enriquez had to do something. So this part time lawyer, full time director of children’s ministries at church, and full time Mom created Peace Camp, an interfaith summer camp for kids in her Chicago suburb. She realized how deeply people of faith needed to show up for the real-world challenges kids are facing. In 2020 Jen acted again and joined forces to keep her Peace Train moving. Her work with Rev. Will Bouvel became Sowing Seeds in the Sand (formerly Tell Me the Truth About Racism). Their work is storytelling to talk about hard subjects, and their canvas is sand. Jen seeks to become an instrument of Peace in all that she does and is fed daily by watching the skies above her morning walks and getting her hands dirty in her garden. All the while she’s working on releasing a couple of good humans into the world and managing the Wiener Dog Army at her house!
