Experience DescriptionWhat if we learned to read the Bible to heal rather than to hurt, and in doing so became people who heal rather than harm? In this session on his new book, Richard Beck invites us to read the Bible as a book of love. For many, Scripture has been a source of confusion, exclusion, and hurt. Beck offers a different approach, reading it through the lens of love rather than fear. Even for those who already seek to read Scripture this way, Beck suggests there are deeper tensions and harder questions than we often acknowledge. As we reexamine difficult passages, confront biblical violence, and wrestle with questions of suffering and salvation, a new vision comes into view: a God whose love is deeper, wider, and more demanding than we imagined. A love that calls us beyond tribal boundaries and moral superiority, and into lives marked by mercy, justice, and radical inclusion. This session is both an introduction to a new way of reading and an invitation to become a different kind of person. Come discover how Scripture can become good news again.
