Experience DescriptionIf Jesus spoke to America right now, he’d confront both MAGA evangelicals and leftist liberals differently - but also the same. You study the Bible looking for certainty, whether to justify harm or to dismantle the text itself. But the text points beyond itself to a person. And that person embodies empathy, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, and radical love. And we reject that. Both sides chase dominance. But the gospel I can’t shake calls us to something harder: to eliminate enemies not through power, but through vulnerable, consenting love. It’s not weak. It’s brave as hell to love your enemies.

    Venue Convo Table 06
Experience DescriptionI've had several unexplainable experiences that Christianity tried to co-opt. After deconstructing, I could either ignore those experiences or lean into the discomfort of facing them without a rigid spiritual structure to define them. In this talk, I would like to set the table and invite people to participate in exploring what those experiences could mean after religion. Who or what is God in the midst of all of it? Do They have any bearing on our lives now?
