| Experience Description | When faced with the hypothetical choice between being alone in the woods with a man or with a bear, a majority of women choose the bear, and they’re right to.
Guys, our collective body of work for the past few millennia is abysmal, filled with individual and collective failures to evolve and grow as human beings. Conservative politics, fundamentalist theology, and the media all perpetuate dangerous stereotypes and reinforce the antiquated tropes we've grown up in and come to see as normal.
But we are not passive participants, helpless victims, or the objects of unfair criticism. It's our responsibility to take ownership of the sins of our past and do the difficult, painful, and costly work of dismantling patriarchy, and part of that involves confronting misogyny around us as well as in the mirror.
Toxic masculinity doesn't just harm the girls and women in our path; it distorts the boys and young men we influence, and it keeps us from the fullness of our humanity.
Let's talk about how we can cultivate emotional maturity, center compassion, normalize a non-toxic masculinity, and earn the trust of women—and we can't do this without listening to them—so ladies, please join us!
