Rev. James Clarke is an ordained interfaith community chaplain who currently works as an activities specialist at the local county jail. His specialty is festival chaplaincy, having served as a freelance chaplain at the annual Camp Punksylvania music festival for the last three years. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, Kristen, daughter, Cordelia, and he possesses masters degrees in English, Education, and Divinity.

    Experience DescriptionRev. James Clarke, an interfaith community chaplain, has served as a chaplain at the last four Camp Punksylvania music festivals. As such, he'll offer his experiential wisdom regarding best practices for offering music-festival chaplaincy, including dos and dont's for setting up and running \listening stations\, the advisable forms of preparatory work, recommended festival-chaplaincy supplies, and tips for helping festival attendees manage expectations and \shoulds\. Rev. Clarke will also share his insights into punk and metal culture, particularly where it intersects with spirituality and theology. Rev. Clarke will also offer an accessible spiritual assessment tool of his own design; this tool is designed to help spiritual care recipients see a visual representation of their spiritual health, and it has been field-tested in multiple settings. Rev. Clarke will be joined by Rev. Zebulon Green, who will share their valuable insights into punk theology, particularly as it applies to church planting.
